Graphics and Titles

In order to create our Graphics and Titles we needed to look at conventions. We decid3ed to use a similar idea to the graphics used in Sinister. This is a white wall with black writing on top. We decided to take a picture of a broken wall and so I took a camera and found a broken wall in one of the classrooms in my school. This gave it a run down and scary feel to the trailer as something might have smashed the wall. I recolored it to make it darker which is commonly used in horror trailers. There was also writing on the wall and a face drawn on which makes the wall have a creepy and eerie feeling.
I then set out to find a font for the graphics. I used the website 1001 fonts. I found that serif fonts were conventional for horror trailers. So I searched for serif fonts and found a font called 'Underworld'. This was a bold and sharp font which suggests danger and the sharpness could connote a blade which is a typically used prop in horror films. I then used this font to create the graphics in the films as well as used it for the font for the title. For the title graphic I decided to find an ink splat to go behind the font. This was conventional to the sinister trailer. I found a large rectangular shaped ink image. I made the font white and set the ink behind it. The black ink gives a scary feel to the trailer and also makes it look professional.
For the 'Horizon Entertainment' graphic, I used publisher in order to create the design. The original design was created by Will and I created It using publisher. I used a series of straight lines and shapes in order to make it and placed it on top of the picture of the wall.
For the final graphic, I found some horror twitter and Facebook icons' This carries the horror feeling of the trailer and also makes it look professional.
